Shango

A group formed in 1983 by the artist [a=Afrika Bambaataa] shortly after he began collaborating with the producer [a=Bill Laswell] on the [l=Celluloid Records] label. According to the label, Shango is "The meaning, tradition and practice of funk, as interpreted by [a=Afrika Bambaataa] and [a=Material]. Three dance-hit singles, horns, and [a=Bernard Fowler]. Definitive."
