Club Nouveau

American synth soul group, formed in 1986, Sacramento, CA by [a=Jay King], after the demise of [a=Timex Social Club].
Their name means "new club". One of their first hits, "Jealousy" is an answer song to [a=Timex Social Club]'s "Rumors". Other hits include their cover on [a=Bill Withers]' "Lean On Me" and "Why You Treat Me So Bad". They have released five albums between 1986 - 1995.
Early members [a=Foster & McElroy] left after the debut album to become one of the most successful production and songwriting teams in the late 1980's soul - r'n'b scene.
