Dream_E

Growing up in a tiny village in Scotland, held a residency at La Cheetah Club from 2015 for 4 years under the renowned title The Burrell Connection. Now living in Berlin, a producer and DJ with a few aliases, most notably, The Burrell Connection is now Dream_E.

In 2019, Berlin came calling and after moving over, he played the likes of Renata and Griessmuehle. Then the pandemic happened, and like many people, Dream_E decided he wanted to shake things up, dropping his take on ambient album lockdown vibes Dreams On 22. This album was marked by many as their album of the year - John Peel Digger Mother AKA Mark Maxwell, and Inverted Audio to name a few.

Then two days after turning 25, just as he was hitting his stride as Dream_E, he was taken down with the brain condition Encephalitis. He was gravely ill, being hospitalized for months, at points unable to walk, talk and breathe properly. But not even this could dampen this guy’s fire.

On a strong path of recovery, in 2021 he joined up with the likes of Or:la and Astral VIP in being pivotal in the Berlin forest raves that were popping up across Berlin, where all the heads required Covid-testing to gain access to the location drop. He’s no stranger to live shows, two of which you can hear segments from on the Revived EP. Looking at his Discogs, you’ll find a range of sounds across multiple monikers (Alfie, DJ59), genres, and of course labels including Optimo Music, Craigie Knowes, and Pace Yourself.

Now in 2022, Dream_E feels back up on his feet with a whopping 7 records, 6 EP’s, and an album all lined up for release. The first half will be self-released under his previous The Burrell Connection alias (now titled as the label) to raise money for the life-saving charity Encephalitis Society.

Ultimately this artist is dedicated to sending positive vibes out into the universe via the dancefloor, and the energy he gives in his music reflects that and some - HWFG.
