The purpose: reissue their own older out of print material due to heavy demand.
The cat#s can be confusing. The earliest releases had the cat#s in small caps. The newer and the second editions of the older ones has the cat#s in CAPS.
Even more confusing can be the naming of the label itself. On the releases it is usually just refered to as 'World', the 'Ambient' part just being in the catalog numbers. So there is danger of confusing this with the 'World' sublabel of FAX, which has PW catalog numbers.
