Regarding 45rpm singles: Some blue label pressings are early 1960's pressings, discs made of polystyrene are 1970's - 1980's pressings. Before then the rim print would have said "Manufactured and Distributed by Phonogram, Inc." The references to PolyGram and Phonodisc (the latter name of which PolyGram could not use in Canada because of the different, independent record distributor of the same name) began to show up on the rim print of Mercury releases near the end of 1976.
The yellow label pressings would have been circa 1978-1980, due to the '16' code which, up to the early '80's, signified Goldisc Record Mfg. in Holbrook, NY (later in the '80's, the '16' code - modified to '016' - was transferred to the ElectroSound Group Midwest plant in Shelbyville, IN, after the Holbrook plant closed).
