  • Record Pressing Plant opened by The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company in early 1924 at 2481 Porter Street, Los Angeles, CA. The plant was used at least through the end of 1931, when the American Record Corporation (ARC) acquired the Brunswick label, and maybe longer. In 1935, ARC opened a new [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/771114]West Coast pressing plant] at 6626 Romaine Street in Hollywood, CA.

Brunswick and Vocalion (2) pressings by this West Coast plant can be distinguished from those by Brunswick's East Coast plants in Long Island City, NY and Jersey City, NJ through differences in label layout and typeface choice. Between 1926 and 1927, for example, only the Los Angeles plant marked records produced with Brunswick's own electrical recording process as "Light Ray Elec(trical) Rec(ording)" on their labels. Around 1928-1929, the text on West Coast labels is set in the Bodoni typeface (except for the catalog numbers, which use Stymie Medium); East Coast labels feature the Cheltenham typeface instead.

Another distinction regards the catalog numbers in the dead wax. The West Coast plant catalog numbers appear in a typewriter style, are raised rather than indented, and appear close to the label. In contrast to East Coast pressings, Vocalion (2) discs produced in Los Angeles show no small triangle before the catalog number in the wax.
