Issued in three phases, each of 100 titles. The first, issued in four installments, covered the years 1949 to 1956; the second, issued in three installments, 1957 and '58; the third, issued in six installments, 1959 to 1969. Note each phase began numbering from 1, hence the duplication of series numbers.
Cat. nos. for phase I range from VICJ-2001 (96.03.06) to VICJ-2097 (96.07.03), with three 2CD sets: VICJ-40110~11, VICJ-40112~13, VICJ-40223~24.
Cat. nos. for phase II range from VICJ-2098 (96.09.28) to VICJ-2197 (96.12.18).
Cat. nos. for phase III range from VICJ-2200 to VICJ-2231 (97.03.29) then VICJ-60001 (97.05.28) to VICJ-60068 (97.09.27).
The Best Value 1500 series from 2005/6 reissued several titles from this series. While the obi and disc face carried updated cat. nos., other paper parts included the original cat. no. and original release date.
