The first studio album from Bad Religion.
How Could Hell Be Any Worse? was the first full-length for the label [l=Epitaph]. Originally only 6,000 copies were pressed, but the record sold much better than expected - almost 10,000 copies within a year - and eventually reached 12,000 copies. Original drummer [a741109] quit the band during the recording. He plays on about half the songs while [a489396] plays on the other half.
Epitaph later reissued the album on cassette and vinyl (with a different catalog #) in the late '80s after Bad Religion had become more active. It was a also included on the 1991 Bad Religion compilation "[m=225457]", along with the band's first EP, "[m=25329]", the "[m=177820]" EP, and some compilation tracks.
The 2004 CD release of "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?" actually contains the remastered tracklist of "[m=225457]" but has all the artwork from "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?" This was done, in part, as a response to fan requests for the lyrics to "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?"
