Master for single releases of "Yé Ké Yé Ké".
The song was originally recorded in 1984 for the album [m=276239]; this version was not released as a single.
The title is a Mandinka chant, meaning something like "the feeling of being in love with someone".

In 1987, the song was re-recorded and remixed for the album [m=141429]. This is the "hit version" in Europe and often referred to as the "French remix".
Due to its success, new mixes for the UK and US were made by Martyn Young. These versions are named "Mory's House mix" or "Afro Acid mix".
The album's title track was featured on the B-side.
It was the first ever African single to sell more than a million units.
The album was the all-time best selling African album by one artist.

Remixed in 1994 by Hardfloor.
Remixed in 1996 by Klubbheads DJ Team.
