A version of "Hey Joe" was first put on single in 1965 by the Californian rock band [a252497] as [r=2652640], without writing credits, to be on later releases credited to [a628824].
Already in 1962, William Moses Roberts Jr. , artistname [a347895] copyrighted the song stating he had written the song. But because it draws on so many well-established blues song conventions, the song seems considerably older.
