A masterpiece live album decorating the golden age of Belafonte!
Harry Belafonte, a prominent vocalist who continues to be loved widely in audio files both domestically and internationally. A masterpiece live album that features patterns of charity concerts held over the two days of April 19th and 20th, 1959, which is also said to be his golden age, with a wonderful voice quality and a rich stereo sound, "Harry · Belafonte · Carnegie · Hall · Concert ". That two-piece analog record finally appears.
Bob Bollard is the producer of this original board, and Bob Simpson, the recording engineer boasts of US RCA VICTOR. He is working on many other recordings of the same label, but among them the record of the same "LIVING STEREO" series as this album is considerably credited.
Although the talk deviates a little, this "LIVING STEREO" series tried to let more people taste the wonderfulness and charm of the stereo recording of rich sense of presence, not only the sound quality, about 10 from 1953 RCA VICTOR gathered all the power over the years and recorded a series of LP record works by "Vivid Stereo Recording" (the stereo record of the same series was released in 1958).
Therefore, this "Harry · Belafonte · Carnegie · Hall Concert" also has a stereo live recording of 1959, which is not yet rich in history yet, it has realistic sound image feeling as if it is hard to believe, You can enjoy the realism like listening at the concert hall.
As for production of this analog record, as for analog / master tape, same as "Harry · Belafonte · Carnegie · Hall · Concert" of SACD / CD hybrid board which was released earlier, the production team of Sony music is discovered We used a total of 4 analog master tapes (2 tracks / 38 cm / sec). This master tape is A / D converted at 96 kHz / 24 bit by Mr. Yuta Nakamura, an engineer at Sony Music Studio.
Based on this A / D converted data, Mr. Shigeru Takusawa of Nippon Columbia D / A converted, mastering, and carefully cut into a lacquer board. The cutting amplifier at this time is Neumann "SAL 74 B", the cutting machine is the same "VMS 70", and the cutter head is the same "SX 74".
In the press process of the final record board, in order to give top priority to the sense of freshness of the sound, we adopt a method called "Metal Master Direct Press". This is a method of creating a metal master disk based on the previous lacquer board and pressing the record directly with this metal master.
