This version of the release houses the two vinyl LPs in a tri-fold, 6-panel cover. The cover is made of thick cardboard and has a non-glossy finish. The catalogue number shown on the cover (DJLPD 1001) is slightly different to that printed on the labels of the LPs (DJLPD.1001). The album was 'Recorded at Strawberry Studios, France' and was 'Remixed at Trident Studios, London' (back cover - middle panel).

This UK issue has 'Made in U.S.A.' as indicated on the labels of the vinyl. This release has yellow and silver 'DJM Records' labels, which differs to other versions of this release. This release is produced on matt, black labels with silver text and the labels have yellow rim text and the yellow and silver DJM Records logos. Similarly, this version of the release, has different runout etchings to others with the same catalogue number.

Track A1 'Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding' each has separate credits though is on one track.
Track A3 is spelt on the inside & back sleeve as 'Bennie And The Jets', but on the label as 'Benny And The Jets'.
Track B4 is spelt on the inside & back sleeve as 'Jamaica Jerk-Off', but on the label as 'Jamaica Jerk Off'.
Track C2 is spelt on the inside & back sleeve as 'The Ballad Of Danny Bailey (1909-34)', but on the label as 'The Ballad Of Danny Bailey (1909-1934)'.
Track D2 is spelt on the inside & back sleeve as 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting', but on the label as 'Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)'

Information on back (panel 3) cover shows that the album was 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 1224339'. The inside cover (panel three) shows 'DJM (Distributors) Limited. James House, 71-75 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1DP' and 'Distributed by Pye Records (Sales) Limited' The cover's spine identifies the album as (reading left - right) 'GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD' 'DJLPD 1001'.
