ТрекЛист:

The RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra was a New York City "pick-up" orchestra drawn from members of the [a=NBC Symphony Orchestra], [a=The New York Philharmonic Orchestra], and [a=The Metropolitan Opera House Orchestra]. Formerly known as the [a=Victor Symphony Orchestra]. (A later incarnation, the [a=RCA Symphony Orchestra], was used on [l=Reader's Digest] & [a=RCA] recordings).
See also: the [a=RCA Victor Chorus] & [a=RCA Victor Chamber Orchestra], and Brazilian-based groups [a=Orquestra RCA Victor] & [a=Côro RCA Victor]. There were also other "dance" orchestras: [a=The RCA Victor Folk Dance Orchestra] & [a=RCA Victor Square Dance Orchestra].

The group began as the "[a=Victor Symphony Orchestra]," created by [a=Nathaniel Shilkret]. The [a=RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra] (sometimes presented as the "RCA Symphony Orchestra") was founded in 1940 in Camden, NJ (USA). The name was later used for free-lance orchestras, mainly in New York City, assembled as needed to make recordings for [l=RCA Victor] through the early 1960s. The orchestra was disbanded in the early 1960s when [l=RCA Victor] began moving much of its Red Seal recording activity to Europe and established the [a=RCA Italiana Symphony Orchestra] / [a=RCA Italiana Opera Orchestra] at its studios in Rome. At this time, [a=Charles Gerhardt] created the [a=RCA Symphony Orchestra], which was used on [l=Reader's Digest] & [a=RCA] recordings.

The orchestra recorded under the pseudonyms "Regent Symphony Orchestra" or "Golden Symphony Orchestra" on budget label recordings.
