• Sig Shore was an independent film maker. He was born in East Harlem, New York on May 13, 1919 and grew up in The Bronx. He attended George Washington University on a basketball scholarship, but left l during World War II. He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a film director, producer, writer and occasional actor.
  
  During the 1960s he directed Ski with Stein and Outdoor World, both featuring Olympic skiing champion, Stein Eriksen. Shore found success with the 1972 film, Super Fly which he produced. The film which starred Ron O'Neal, became a surprised box office hit. He also produced the film's 1973 sequel, Super Fly T.N.T.. He also produced and directed the 1975 film, That's the Way of the World which starred Earth, Wind & Fire, Harvey Keitel, Ed Nelson and Cynthia Bostick. Other films he directed were Sudden Death (1985), The Survivalist (1987) and The Return of Super Fly (1990).
  
  He died from respiratory failure due to chronic pneumonia on August 17, 2006 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. at age 87.
