Had a band called [a=Regina Richards and Red Hot] from 1980-81 with 2 singles and an album on A&M records. She was more interested in being a songwriter after that and penned a song called Baby Love with Stephen Bray, who wrote songs for Madonna frequently. Madonna declined the song and Regina recorded it in 1985, released under the name Regina, and it hit the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1986.
According to Regina herself, her REAL stage name is Regina Richards. It was the label who wanted her to be "just" Regina. But in her eyes, Regina Richards should be used.
