Born on 15.03.1944 in Harlem, New York
Died 18.12.2011 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA.
He released eight solo albums from 1976 to 1998. He co-wrote [a=Roberta Flack] & [a=Donny Hathaway]'s "Where is the Love" and [a=Bill Withers]' "Just The Two Of Us"
He started his career at the age of 16 as percussionist for [a=Harry Belafonte] and was a member of Belafonte's band for 10 years. He played as a session percussionist in many artists' recordings over the ensuing decades, including [a=George Benson], [a=David Bowie], [a=Aretha Franklin], [a=Art Garfunkel], [a=Billy Joel], [a=Quincy Jones], [a=Carole King], [a=Miriam Makeba], [a=David Sanborn], [a=Paul Simon], [a=Steely Dan] etc.
He co-founded publishing/production company [l=Antisia Music, Inc.] with longtime songwriting partner [a=William Salter] and [a=William Eaton] in 1968. He founded [l=Rosebud Recording Studio] in the mid-1970s.
