U.K. Soul - Funk group
UK disco and soul group that came together in 1976 comprising members from two previous soul bands: Hot Wax (who went on to become [a=Hi-Tension]) and 70% Proof. They had already released a mid '70s single at the reggae label [l=Vulcan] when they participated in a TV talent show where [a=Mickie Most] saw them and picked them to sign them on his label [l=RAK]. They released five singles at [l=RAK], the most successful of which was the No.11 [url=https://www.discogs.com/Kandidate-I-Dont-Wanna-Lose-You/release/6513725]"I Don't Wanna Lose You"[/url] that was included in the soundtrack of [url=https://www.discogs.com/Various-Sunburn-The-Original-Soundtrack-Album-From/release/6713991]"Sunburn"[/url], for the movie starring [a=Farrah Fawcett]. They left [l=RAK] for [l=Polydor] releasing two more singles but when they were ready to release their debut album "Positives" they disbanded and the album was never released. Brothers [a=Terence Morris] (keyboards, vocals) and [a=Ferdi Morris] (bass) along with [a=Lloyd Phillips] (drums, vocals, brother of [a=Hi-Tension]'s guitarist [a=Paul Phillips]) formed the production and writing trio [a=M.P.M. (2)]. [a=Phil Fearon] (guitar) went on with [a=Galaxy (4)] and [a=Jascha Tambimuttu] (guitar, vocals) went on as a very successful producer and songwriter, often working with [a=Phil Fearon], under the pseudonym [a=Tambi Fernando]. Their line-up included as well [a=Alex Bruce (2)] (percussion) and [a=Robert Collins (6)] (percussion, vocals).
