The Third Eye (2)

South African progressive rock group formed in Durban in 1968.
Founded by young brother and sister team of Ron and Dawn Selby who previously played alongside bassist Mike Sauer in a Durban band named It's a Secret. The arrival of Maurice Saul, a guitarist who had lived in what was then Rhodesia (later Zimbabwe) before moving to South Africa, and Robbie Pavid, a drummer who doubled as the percussionist for Abstract Truth, another Durban-based progressive outfit, saw the band morph into Third Eye. Their music is a blend of progressive and psychedelia which can refer to the music of a band like The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown (on the 3rd and final album they covered "Fire"). One of the top acts of South African rock ever.
