• Jon (born February 28th, 1951, died 24th July 2000) from Detroit. Jon's love of music led him to get together with his brother Tom and others, and form the Tidal Waves in the mid-60s. Still at Burton Jr. High in Roseville at the time .. the band hooked up with Jon's cousin Jack Chekaway at SVR Records, put 200 bucks together, headed to United Sound Systems, and came out with the remake of "Farmer John", selling nearly a million copies of the song. The popularity of the song resulted in it being picked up by HBR Records, and would have the group open for acts like the Dave Clark 5, Animals, Herman's Hermits, Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, and even the Rationals.
