  • Канадско-американская группа в стиле рутс-рок. Постепенно собрались с 1960 по 1964 год как Ronnie Hawkins' бэк-бенд The Hawks (2). После ухода от Хокинса в 1964 году они кратко именовались Levon And the Hawks. В 1965 году они выпустили сингл под именем Canadian Squires. В конце лета 1965 года Bob Dylan искал бэк-бэнд для своего первого "электрического" тура по США, и Левона и Хоксов порекомендовал блюзовый певец John Paul Hammond.
