American pop and country singer. Born July 19, 1925 in Nevada, Missouri. Died September 23, 2021, in Pahrump, Nevada.

Sue charted 15 times as a solo artist in the U.S. from 1961-1975. Her first charted song was also her highest: "Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)", which earned #1 adult contemporary and #5 overall in 1961.
Best known for her breathy, little-girl singing voice, Thompson had several novelty pop hits in the early '60s before reinventing herself as a more mature country singer in the mid-'70s.
