Leroy Harris (4)

1960s and 1970s soul artist from Kansas City, Missouri. A handsome leader with a compelling baritone voice and firebrand guitar skills, he kept a tight trio known as the Tear Drop Revue featuring drummer Dwight Jenkins and bassist Glenn Whitney. When a gig required it, he added singer Rita Rochelle, as well as a myriad of backing vocalists and horns. He had a single 45 release on [l=Swan] in 1966 credited as "Leroy Harris". His remaining 45s were credited as "Lee Harris" and released on [l=Forte Records (2)], as he was a frequent collaborator of label-owner [a=Ellis Taylor (2)].
