Michael Rother

German, experimental musician Michael Rother was born 2 September, 1950 in Hamburg. Rother was in the group Spirit of Sound with [a=Wolfgang Riechmann] and [a=Wolfgang Flür] until 1970. For a very short time he played with [a=Kraftwerk], though it was in between their first two albums and he is not featured on any of their official releases. When he left Kraftwerk, he took with him [a=Klaus Dinger] and together they became [a=Neu!]. Simultanously to that band, Rother collaborated with [a=Hans-Joachim Roedelius] and [a=Dieter Moebius] of [a=Cluster] in a new project called [a=Harmonia]. In 1976 he decided to go solo, though he still toured with Moebius until 2014.
