Disco trio formed in 1978, San Francisco. Recorded two albums. [a=Dale Reed], an east coast musician who had his first taste of popularity as part of the 1968 collective known as the [a=American Blues Exchange], was the brains behind the sound. The seminal disco figures -dj's and later owners of [l=Megatone Records], [a=Marty Blecman] and [a=John Hedges] helped them prociding the outlet for [a=Dale Reed]'s first outing. Their first release was the [l=Motown] cover "Standing In The Shadows Of Love". "Beat Of The Night" was their seminal disco single featuring the synthesizer styles of [a=Patrick Cowley] that would be the leading proponents of the early 80's hi-NRG disco sound. By 1979 [l=Fantasy] was in financial trouble and with the impending death of disco there were no further Fever releases. [a=Dennis Wadlington] went on to producer [a=Sylvester]'s "Call Me" and in the 1990's-2000's arranging and producing [a=Lenny Williams], [a=Juanita Wynn] and [a=Robbie Young] among others. [a=Joseph "Joe" Bomback] dropped out of sight only to resurface in the new millennium in the world music market. [a=Dale Reed] resurfaced in the 1990's mostly as a producer of mixed-disco cd's and joined with old friend Wadlington on the [a=Juanita Wynn] project.
