1960s American record label based in Detroit, Michigan, and founded by Harry Balk.
Initially, the label was run out of the same location as Inferno (5), another one of Balk's labels. In existence for a few short years, 1965 - 1967, Impact Records left an impact on the Detroit R&B and Soul scene by recording and producing such artists as The Shades of Blue, The Human Beings, The Duke Browner Orchestra, The Lollipops, and Edwin Starr. The studio did not survive the 1967 Detroit Riots and after several businesses occupied the building, the former studio is now an empty lot.
