Plague Language

- Alternative hip hop collective and label based in Guelph, Ontario.
Founded by Noah23 and Orphan in 2000. From 2001-2004 Plague Language functioned as an independent record label, releasing projects by Noah23 (release, release), Baracuda (6) (release), Penny (release) and Orko the Sycotik Alien (release). With the departure of Orphan in 2004 to form Blue Sky Black Death, Plague Language ceased to function as a record label.
Since 2006, Plague Language has existed as a Guelph-based crew, a brand used by these artists for independent releases, and an imprint on Canadian label Legendary Entertainment, owned by producer Crunk Chris (with whom Noah23 collaborates under the name CRUNK23).
The reformed Plague Language crew in 2006 consisted of Noah23, Baracuda, DS (2), Livestock (2), Lord Kufu, Madadam and The Main, with Hawaii-based rapper Wormhole as a quasi-member.
In 2010 Austin-based rapper Spz Chaote was officially added to the crew.
Currently (as of late 2013), the Plague Language crew consists of Noah23, DS, Lord Kufu, Madadam, The Main and Spz Chaote. Livestock no longer raps and Baracuda is no longer affiliated with Plague Language.
