- Now defunct Norwegian independent music distributor founded on 28 May 1999 by FONO (association for Norwegian independent record companies). Merged with Artspages (Norway) and Klicktrack (Sweden) in 2010 and represented more than 800 music labels and 300 thousand tracks at some point during the 2010s. Operated primarily in the Nordic market.
Phonofile sold music through its own store Klicktrack.com and distributed it to a variety of other stores and services, including iTunes, Spotify and Juno Download.
In 2017 they were bought by Sony's The Orchard, and in December 2018 all Phonofile services were shut down and all functionality and releases were moved to The Orchard's systems.
