- Also credited as "BBC Worldwide Limited.", BBC Worldwide Ltd. was a wholly owned commercial subsidiary and principal holding company of the British Broadcasting Corporation, formed out of a restructuring of its predecessor BBC Enterprises Ltd. on 1 January 1995. The company exploited BBC brands, sold BBC and other British programming for broadcast abroad with the aim of supplementing the income received by the BBC through the licence fee charged in the UK. As of 2016 the company was the immediate parent to over 70 international wholly owned subsidiaries operating within the media industry. Renamed BBC Studios Distribution Ltd. from 1 October 2018.
