The legal parent of the Mercury label (and its subsidiaries) from its formation on March 1st, 1947, to the mid 1960s, when it was doubled with Mercury Record Productions, Inc., which superseded it by 1971.
Circa 1970 this was the parent company of Mercury, Philips, Smash Records (4), Fontana, Limelight, and Intrepid (2). At that time, it was a product of Mercury Record Productions, Inc., and a North American Philips Company.

1. This is a record company, not a label. Please use Mercury or the appropriate subsidiary as the label.
2. This company should not be used for any releases after 1971, except for repressings of albums originally released in or before 1971 that say "Mercury Record Corporation" on the cover.
