UK residency recording studio built by Alvin Lee in the barn at Hookend Manor, a sprawling manor house which was first built in1580 (See also Alvin Lee Ltd.).
Upon Lee's departure (to another studio location) the Manor was then owned by Dave Gilmour and was the den of Pink Floyd, known as Hookend Studios.
After Gilmour's departure the property was purchased by Trevor Horn & Jill Sinclair and the studio fully refurbished as Sarm Hook End, at the time featuring one of the UK's largest SSL consoles - a 96-channel J Series frame with 80 modules. The manor residency provided 14 bedrooms, a gym and in-house chef. Horn then subsequently purchased Chris Blackwell's Basing Street Studios in 1982 which became Sarm West Studios.
