- Olde West, Inc. was a former music production and manufacturer/duplication business, founded by Peter Eckart following the closing of his previous studio, Olde West Recording, San Francisco, CA. In addition to production, the company also did audio mastering and delivered final audio. Employees included mastering engineers Guy Slater and Rick Wilson (8), as well as staff designers Lisa Berman, Sue Sandlin, and Greg Reeves (2). The company closed its doors in 2003.
Olde West was the exclusive Northern California broker for Disc Manufacturing, Inc. and continued in this role with Cinram. The CDs were normally made at the Anaheim plant, but some releases were made at the Huntsville plant. If no specific role is credited, then a generic "Made By" or "Manufactured By" should be chosen.
CD matrices on pressings that Olde West brokered manufacturing for may include an 'OWR#####' string, with ##### being a five digit number. The OWR##### string was a brokerage number provided to the pressing company, and typically only appears in the matrix of releases that did not have a label catalog number. As the OWR##### string does not appear to have any particular sequence, do not enter it as an LCCN catalog number.
