During the inaugural year of 1971, Warner Bros.-Pioneer Corporation released their very first albums, and among these was a group of titles that were promoted as part of the "Rock Age" campaign.
Die-cut Obi with Rock Age logo was attached on the albums issued in May.1971 - Aug.1971. As an exception, some second pressings have the Die-cut Obi, Led Zeppelin - I, II, III, Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, Emerson Lake and Palmer -1st ...
Another similar campaign from 1971 was the "Sound Rock Age 7" series started Sep.1971 after "Rock Age" campaign. The "7" means following 7 artists. Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Deep Purple, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer.
Promotional issues of some can be found with Rock Age obi & blue promotional labels.
Blue promotional labels were used for more than just the Rock Age series, so don't conflate one with the other absent photographic confirmation.
At least 40 different releases have been positively identified and documented in the Discogs database.
At least 12 more releases are suspected to have been part of the original campaign, but have not as yet been documented to exist with Rock Age obies (please update this as necessary):
