Major manufacturer of blank lacquer discs for vinyl production. DO NOT USE for Lacquer Cut At, Manufactured By, or Record Company roles on mass-produced vinyl records. If a runout code indicates that the Master was cut using an Apollo lacquer blank, please enter this information in Notes only.
History:
After Capitol Records closed its Lacquer Division in October 1986, GC International purchased the lacquer disc equipment and manufacturing facility in 1988.
The operation was then moved to Banning, California, where the production started in early 1989.
The Banning plant, suffered a crippling fire on the 7th of February, 2020. Until the fire, Apollo Masters was responsible for producing 70 to 85 percent of the global lacquer plates.
