- Greatest Hits series from Polydor Special.
The Dutch division of Polydor started this series late 1971 as an international follow-up to Top Of The Pops (13) (which only contained Dutch artists).
Although the first volume failed to chart, the series gained popularity as an answer to Philips' Alle 13 Goed!.
Tracks included are from the Polydor catalogue (including sublabels such as Chelsea Records, MGM Records, Bell Records, Cube Records, Stax, State Records (3), Capricorn Records and RSO).
The series reached its peak in August 1974 when volume 6 reached No. 2 in the album chart (and being the best selling V/A compilation at that moment).
A spin-off named 14 Internationale Hits was launched to bring together international repertoire, but this was not successful.
Both series ended in 1976 and were succeeded by Hitkracht 14.
