Rhodesian (Zimbabwean) release, 1979.
Re: country of issue - Rhodesia (Zimbabwe)
The country of Rhodesia existed between 1965 - 1979 with the Republic of Zimbabwe coming into existence in 1980. As this LP was released in 1979, the country of issue is probably more correctly stated as Rhodesia than Zimbabwe.
Re: Identification of this release as Rhodesian (Zimbabwean) and comparison to the South African release with the same cat # here
(1.) The sleeve is manufactured from recycled cardboard which, on the inside of the sleeve, is light-grey and speckled in appearance and rough to the touch. The outer cover is also slightly rough and matt in comparison to the South African release, which is glossy.
(2.) The record labels are completely monochromatic viz. black text + black Warner Bros. Records logo (quite small) on a plain, white background rather than black text + multi-coloured Warner Bros. logo (significantly larger) on the South African release.
(3.) On the rear cover, in the bottom right-hand corner, there is a white rectangle with coloured margin. This is presumed to be a local printers' mark or, perhaps, a blanked-out region created by the omission of the South African printer's mark. By comparison, the South African release has "interpak" in the same position on the rear cover.
(P) (C) 1979 Beggars Banquetartist (sic) appears on label Side A & B beneath WBC 1448. This is similar to the South African release which has ℗© 1979 Beggars Banquetartist (sic) instead.
Compare to the South African release with the same cat #.
