2020年9月25日、IDLESは待望のサード・アルバム『Ultra Mono』をPartisan Recordsよりリリースする。『Ultra Mono』はNick Launay（Nick Cave、Yeah Yeah Yeahs、Arcade Fire）とAdam ‘Atom’ Greenspan（Anna Calvi、Cut Copy）のプロデュースのもと、パリでレコーディング。Kenny Beats（FKA Twigs、DaBaby、Vince Staples）が追加のプログラミングをおこない、アルバムのサウンドはヒップホップのレコードのフィーリングを捉えるように構築された。積極的な駐留、包括性、階級、ジェンダーの不平等、ナショナリズム、コミュニティ、トキシック・マスカリニティ（有毒な男らしさ）等、今でも常に存在する事象がテーマとなり、過去の作品でも表現された痛烈な冷笑と露骨な社会評論は倍増した。また、Jehnny Beth（Savages）がゲスト・ヴォーカルとしてフィーチャーされ、Warren Ellis（Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds）、David Yow、Jamie Cullumもコントリビューターとして参加した。

On September 25, 2020, IDLES will release their long-awaited third album "Ultra Mono" on Partisan Records. "Ultra Mono" was recorded in Paris under the production of Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire) and Adam'Atom' Greenspan (Anna Calvi, Cut Copy). With additional programming by Kenny Beats (FKA Twigs, DaBaby, Vince Staples), the sound of the album was built to capture the feel of hip-hop records. Aggressive stationing, inclusiveness, class, gender inequality, nationalism, community, toxic masculinity, and other events that still exist today are the themes, and the bitter ridicule expressed in past works. The explicit social criticism has doubled. Jehnny Beth (Savages) was featured as a guest vocalist, and Warren Ellis (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), David Yow, and Jamie Cullum also participated as contributors.
