A. God Save The Queen 3:10
B. No Feeling 2:44
Advance test pressing of 1977 UK 45 issued by A&M records.
25,000 copies of the commercial 45 were pressed, but almost all of them were destroyed when the band's contract was terminated,
a mere six days after it was signed. Prior to the manufacture of the commercial 45s, a handful of plain white test pressings were made. It is likely that no more than six copies were made, as they would have only been given to the band members, their manager, and perhaps an
A&M Records staff member in the quality control department. Only two or three copies of the test pressing are known to have survived. This test pressing bears the exact characteristics of the commercial 45, including the non-slip serrated ring around the labels and matrix
numbers which read "AMS-7284 -A-2" on the 'A' side and "AMS-7284-B-1 7284" on the 'B' side, as well as a pressing ring 1/2" from the
small center hole.
The copy pictured here has the artist name and song title written on each label in two different hands, one of which is likely Malcolm McLaren, the band's promoter and manager.
Note: This did not come in an A&M company sleeve. It has been paired with one just for photos.
