  • О Лейбле:
  • Major printing, packaging & innovative design group (holding company). Operating under this name from 25 February 1969 to 23 September 1983. Now known as "AGI World Ltd." (since 11 November 2010).

The Company was incorporated on 25 February 1969, through the acquisition of "S.Tinsley & Co. Ltd", "Robor-Bradstreet Ltd" and Robor Ltd., followed by the printing / packaging businesses of Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd. & James Upton Ltd. in the early 70s.

In 1974 the group approached Steinemann Technology (Switzerland) to invent a new type of machine to coat cardboard products with UV varnish, the group took deliver of this new innovative machine (Uvimat -126) shortly after. The new process was a game changer allowing the company to cut costs by half and speed up the printing process ten-fold, as opposed to the slower expensive method involved in lamination.

Throughout the early 1990s the company continued to expand in the multimedia market through its subsidiaries, opening new plants to serve EMI Uden, EMI Swindon and in 1995 being invited by SONY to open a new factory in Austria to serve DADC Austria.

The company was the sole licensee for AGI (4) Digipak® brand in the UK, which was manufactured at James Upton's Birmingham factory. In 1997 "Tinsley Robor" also acquired the Dutch packaging company Van De Steeg whom was the European licensee for the Digipak® brand and the owner of its own patented packaging products.

In 1998 the group was acquired by / and became part of Impac Group Inc. (private equity group) which was subsequently acquired in 2000 by Westvaco later to become MeadWestvaco.
In 2010, parent company MeadWestvaco (MWV) agreed to sell its Media & Entertainment business "AGI World" operating as AGI Media, AGI Amaray and AGI Polymatrix, to Atlas Industrial Holding Company LLC. In 2012 Atlas Holdings merged "AGI World" with International Paper's Shorewood Packaging to create ASG (AGI-Shorewood Group).
