- Major International music publishing (holding) company, operating under this name from 29 December 1978 to 22 September 1988 (aka "Chappell International Music Publishers Ltd.") Formerly known as Chappell & Co. Ltd.
In 1986 the company was sold by Polygram N.V.(PolyGram) to a consortium of investors headed by Freddie Bienstock - (the owner of Carlin Music Corp.) for $109m, (a record figure at the time for a publishing company) subsequently to be further sold on to Warner Communications Inc. in 1987 enabling the company to form one of the largest music publishers catalogues (Warner/Chappell). On the 22nd Sep 1988 "Chappell International Music Publishers Ltd" was renamed Warner Chappell Music International Ltd.
